Once you’ve got your windows you will need to pop out the glass. This is a lot easier than it sounds. Windows like these often have glazing points that hold the glass in place. To pop out your glass just bend back the glazing points.

Here’s a pic showing what the glazing points look like after the glass has been removed. Now use pliers to pull out the glazing points.

Next, head over to your local hardware shop and get plywood to fit behind the windows. Paint this plywood with chalkboard paint. For the overall look of the window chalkboard calendar you have lots of finishing options. You could paint, stain or spray paint your window frames according to your desired effect. These ones were painted using a paint sprayer. We think that a distressed effect would also look great. If you want to do this, add some stain to your window frames and then sand them down to get that rustic look.

Once the paint has dried, simply attach the chalkboard plywood to the back of your window frames. Hang the 2 windows side-by-side to create a giant window chalkboard calendar. Simply add the days of the week, calendar dates and leave some chalk on the windowsill. You can now fill in your monthly activities onto your giant window chalkboard!
